Sometimes the soccer and show business environments intersect and can shake both environments. And a clear example of this is when someone who is dedicated to sports and someone who lives in the show business becomes a couple and when that happens, the couple in question usually attracts the attention of both sports fans and the artist.

And something like that is what Gerard Piqué, the FC Barcelona defender who married the Colombian singer Shakira, has lived the last 12 years of his life, becoming one of the most pursued couples by the paparazzi of the press, both from the world of show business and the media dedicated to the press. And although the couple seemed to live a fairy tale it ended and apparently it was because of infidelity.

The entertainment press started to spread the rumor that the FC Barcelona defender had been unfaithful to the singer, and the rumor was gaining strength until today the inevitable happened: Shakira and Piqué released a joint statement announcing that they are separating, thus indirectly confirming the rumors of the press.  And the big loser in this drama would be the Spaniard.

The millions that Piqué would lose because of the divorce with Shakira, who would be the big winner

Shakira and Piqué had been in a 12-year relationship and reportedly have a combined fortune of more than 350 million euros, about US$375 million. Celebrity Net Worth calculates that the amount of the Barranquillera is US$300 million, while that of the sportsman would be close to US$80 million so that with the separation the Spaniard would be left without the enormous fortune that the couple had together.

Thus ends one of the most stable relationships between a celebrity and an athlete, and it remains to be seen how the FC Barcelona board will take this scandal, as it is known that in elite clubs players must maintain a code of conduct, one that Piqué would have breached by getting involved in this scandal.
