It's worth noting that a Premier League team is on the brink of being sold for a record-breaking amount. According to Manchester Globe, Manchester United is close to being sold for £6 billion pounds. British outlet’s have reported that Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani is the chosen candidate to buy The Glazers out of Old Trafford.

Also, The Sun reports that the Qatari is willing to purchase all shares of The Glazer ownership and even pay off a debt of £725 million pounds. However, journalist Mike Keegan stated that British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe is also in the battle to acquire the club, so nothing is certain for now.

Currently, investments are not limited to teams alone; they also extend to top players. For instance, the Saudi Pro League continues to attract talent, even players who are still capable of competing in the world's most competitive leagues.

Man Utd's expected takeover potentially led to the signings of top players like Neymar. According to Football 365, the expected ‘new’ ownership was hoping to sign Neymar after the takeover. However, the brazilian star just completed a move to Saudi Al-Hilal. Moreover, SPORT also reported that the Red Devils are among the teams with enough funds to consider a move on Kylian Mbappe.

The sale might not be finalized in 2023

Manchester Globe points out that despite both offers, the Manchester United ownership is not yet willing to accept either. So, at the moment, the takeover remains uncertain. Ultimately, The Glazer Family wants to part ways with the club they took over in 2005, which has been burdened with a series of poor results over the years. The group of billionaires also owns the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the current Super Bowl champions.
