Real Madrid played against RB Leipzig on the second leg of the Champions League and everyone was worried about how the team could perform without French legend and Balon d'Or main contender this year: Karim Benzema. Could Vinicius take on the team and lead them to victory? That was the main question.

Nevertheless, the current Champions League holders had also another promising player that hasn't gotten enough attention, the Uruguayan Federico Valverde. He started as a central midfielder that even competed for the starting line-up against Brazilan star, Casemiro. But within months he proved he can play anywhere.

Recently Carlo Ancelotti got new players for his midfield, both young promises from France: Camavinga and Tchouaméni. And with them, the midfield seemed completed, but that didn't matter for the Uruguayan he found on the attacking side somewhere to play in the best club in the world.

He was the hero against Leipzig

Valverde isn't new to covering the right-wing position and he has already scored important goals for Real Madrid, like in their victory against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup. Now, Real Madrid faces a big problem, will they put Valverde in the midfield or as a striker? Not a common problem for the biggest team in Europe.
