There's one more tournament left for Manchester City to try to win this 2023. Pep Guardiola's team will try to conquer the FIFA Club World Cup for the first time in its entire history. After winning 4 titles this year (Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League and UEFA Super Cup), the ‘sky blue’ team will try to become world champion for the first time.
Manchester City's route to the FIFA Club World Cup 2023 final in Saudi Arabia has been confirmed after the tournament draw was held earlier this Tuesday. Pep Guardiola's team is directly qualified to the semifinals and they'll face the winner of the match between Club León from Mexico (CONCACAF champion) and Urawa Red Diamonds from Japan (Asian Champions League champion).
Some interesting names will be playing in Saudi Arabia in December when the FIFA Club World Cup is held. The team representing CONMEBOL and that will be directly qualified to the second semifinal is yet to be defined. Copa Libertadores winner in November will travel to Saudi in December and face one of the following teams: Al Ittihad, Al Ahly and Auckland City.
Saudi Pro League champion Al Ittihad was qualified to the first round. If they win their match against Auckland, then win against Al Ahly, and knock out the Copa Libertadores champion in semifinals, there's a huge chance they play against Manchester City in the final. Pep Guardiola could be facing Ballon D'Or winner Karim Benzema, current captain of Al Ittihad, in the final.
