August is over and the Premier League has already announced the nominees for the Best Player, Manager, Goal and Save of the Month awards. Pep Guardiola was of course expected to be nominated for the Manager of the Month award after Manchester City won the first 4 matches and remain as the only leader of the Premier League season.

Guardiola made it into the 5 names shortlist, but he wasn't the only one that made an incredible work during the first matches of the league. At this moment, Manchester City remain as the sole leader with 12 points. Tied with 10 points, Tottenham, Liverpool, West Ham and Arsenal share the second position.

Some big and relatively unexpected performances were seen during the month of August. West Ham beating Chelsea, Liverpool coming from behind at Newcastle with 10 players, Tottenham playing great level football against Manchester United, Manchester City winning the first 4 matches for the second time in the Guardiola era and Arsenal winning against United in the last minutes.

The 5 nominees for the Manager of the Month award

Football fans can vote for the Manager of the Month award winner in the Premier League official website. Mikel Arteta (Arsenal), Pep Guardiola (Manchester City), Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool), David Moyes (West Ham) and Ange Postecoglou (Tottenham) are the 5 nominees. These are the current managers in the top 5 of the league.
