The Union Nationale des Footballeurs Professionels (UNFP) presented the Ligue 1 season awards this Sunday. Kylian Mbappé was chosen as the best player of the season in the French championship and the French striker gave a speech in which he dedicated a few words to Lionel Messi.

The captain of the Argentine National Team did not attend the ceremony despite the fact that he was nominated in more than one section. In fact, Leo was one of the shortlists for the MVP that ended up being for Mbappé, but he was part of the ideal 11 of the season along with Donatello himself and his two teammates Hakimi Achraf and Nuno Mendes.

With one day to go before the championship ends, Kylian leads the scoring table with 28 celebrations, one more than Alexandre Lacazette. A large part of those 28 goals were thanks to Messi, who registered 16 assists, 11 of which were for the French attacker. For this reason, the '7' did not hesitate to thank Lionel when it came to receiving the award for best footballer of the tournament again.

What did Mbappé say about Messi after winning the Ligue 1 MVP?

“I want to thank all the players. Winning the league is a great honor for us. I want to thank Leo Messi, who has really helped me a lot this season, the staff, the management and the people who work behind the scenes", said Bondy's man in his speech. Thus, Kylian seemed to settle the versions that antagonized him with the Flea, just days away from the end of his stage at PSG.
