In a soccer match many anecdotes can occur between players, which over time tend to be forgotten and the most important thing is always the result of the match. Now, it will not be like that, despite the fact that Argentina won 1-0 against Paraguay, and that the South Americans are already first in the group, an anecdote from the match totally surpassed the relevance of the result.

The match was about to end when Sanabria, a forward from Paraguay, spit on Lionel Messi's back. Although the spit appears to fail in the image, it didn't take long for the video of what happened to go completely viral on social media.

Lionel Messi minimized the matter and wanted to downplay it. These were the Argentine's words after what happened: “No, the truth is that I didn't see it. “They told me there, in the locker room, that one of them had spit on me,” he began. Then, he was much more spicy: “The truth is that I don't even know who he is because I don't know who this guy is. I didn't see it but they told me later. But I don't want to give it importance either, otherwise now he's going to start talking everywhere and it's worse, he's going to become known, so it's better to leave it there."

The player explained his version, and although no one believes him on social networks, these were his words: "I was looking at the image. It seems like I was spitting it out, but no, nothing to see. He was far away. Nothing happened with Messi. It seems that I spit it out, but nothing to do with it, it was far away. I deny it."

When will Argentina play again?

After the crucial victory against Paraguay, Argentina is already in first place in the group, and they will hope to continue that way after the 1-1 draw against Brazil. Now, Argentina will play this Monday against Peru, only this time they will not do it at home, but rather they will play in Lima, as visitors. Will Messi play from the start?
