
Manchester City and NewCastle faced for the third round of the EFL Cup (or more known now as the Carabao Cup) in a very dramatic matchup, where the Citizens lost 1-0 against NewCastle with a great goal scored by Alexander Isak at the minute 54’; Pep Guardiola’s team wasn't able to even make harm on NewCastle during the second half.
Manchester City and NewCastle are dueling in order to have a ticket to play the next round of the EFL Cup, and Pep Guardiola isn’t very happy with the Citizens performance. NewCastle has a new opportunity to win over the Citizens in the third round of the EFL Cup. Also, the last team who scored two goals against Manchester City was Tottenham Hotspur in a 4-2 matchup in January 2023, where Pep Guardiola’s team won the game.
As we said before, the injury topic on Manchester City is awful and very concerning. Pep Guardiola can’t lose anymore players or he won’t have any to use in what remains of the year. That is why Pep has decided to sit down Erling Haaland for today’s match against NewCastle.
