Lionel Scaloni gave the list of those called up for the double date of the South American Qualifiers towards the 2026 World Cup that will take place in October. The Albiceleste will have its first training session this Monday and the coach already knows which players he will have for the games against Paraguay and Peru. As usual, the roster had some surprises and one is directly related to Inter Miami.

On the one hand, it is worth mentioning that the presence of Lionel Messi has its striking part taking into account that he did not play in any of the Herons' last four games and his presence against Cincinnati this Saturday is not yet confirmed. In fact, there is a possibility that he will not play the Argentina matches despite having been summoned. However, another footballer from the Florida franchise appears on Gringo's list who gained more visibility for having been alongside Leo.

This is Facundo Farías. The young attacker with a past in Colón de Santa Fe is one of the best footballers in the team led by Gerardo Martino and is showing himself even more now that the top winner of the Ballon d'Or has to be out. Along the same lines, it must be clarified that his call is aimed at the U-23, but it is still a source of pride for Inter Miami's '11'. On the other hand, those who were not called up were Tomás Avilés and Benjamín Cremaschi, who already debuted with the United States major and is moving further and further away from the Albiceleste.

It is not certain that Messi will play against Paraguay and Peru

Leo was called up by Scaloni but that does not mean that he is no longer injured. In fact, his presence against Cincinnati is not confirmed and he could travel to Argentina without being recovered. In that case, he would accompany the group from outside, as he did against Bolivia.
