Liverpool FC has failed to get another victory at the seventh week of the Premier League when they awfully fell against Tottenham Hotspur in a 2-1 loss, where at the end, the Reds only had nine players on field, when Diogo Jota was also expelled from the match at the 68’ minute.

The Reds had a great chance to become the top leader of the standings as Manchester City was defeated by Wolverhampton in a 2-1 victory at the Molineux Stadium. Nevertheless, Liverpool's chances were compromised by Tottenham Hotspur as Joel Mattip managed to score a second and definitive goal in order to prevail over the Reds.

Tottenham Hotspur was the first to open the score with a great goal scored by Son Heung-Min at the minute 36’; the hosts were dominating the ball possession with over 48 percentage, also Liverpool was suffering as they only had10 players on field as Curtis Jones was expelled from the game at the 26’ minute. Diogo Jota was also kicked out from the match in a pretty controversial play at the minute 68’, leaving Liverpool with only nine men.

Manchester City is still on the top of the Premier League standings but with a defeat on their record. Liverpool FC has lost their undefeated streak against Tottenham Hotspur and has been displaced from the second place to the fourth, just below Arsenal.

What’s next for Liverpool FC?

Liverpool has received the first goal of the match during their last two visits (Newcastle United and Wolverhampton) and has managed to win them at the end, according to the stats, Liverpool could’ve repeated the trick against Tottenham Hotspur but failed. The Reds had one of the largest undefeated streaks of the Premier League (17 victories) and was one of the last three clubs with this mark, but now have a stain on their record.

Liverpool FC has a pretty tight schedule ahead; For their second Europe League appointment they will face Union-Saint Gilloise on Thursday the 5th;  for the next Premier League week will go up against Brighton Hooves on October 8th; and go up against Everton on October 21st.
