Argentina beat Peru 2-0, in gameweek number four of the qualifying qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. Lionel Messi was the best player on the field once again, as he scored two great goals and gave his team the victory.

"Another important victory in Lima to continue adding together. Let's go!" expressed Lionel Messi on his official Instagram account after finishing the match against Peru. It didn't take long for the photo to have millions of likes, as has become usual with the Argentine.

Lionel Scaloni talks about Lionel Messi after his game: “I saw Messi as if he had not had an injury, as if he had not been stopped. The team has understood this for a while, playing in a very marked way, which benefits him and makes him feel comfortable. I hope he plays as long as he can, because everyone is happy seeing him on the court.”

Lionel Scaloni did not like the field: “The field was not very good either, to make the tenure. We are not going to change the way this team plays. "We were conditioned by having been left with a single change window with more than 40 minutes left to play and with some players with physical problems."

Angel Di Maria gave bad news to Argentina:

“I will leave Argentina national team after Copa América — it's over for me. “I hugged Messi at PSG and told him: the only thing I'm grateful for is to have been able to play with you in a club, to be able to see you every day.”
