What happened this Saturday night at the Santiago Bernabéu at the end of the match between Real Madrid and Villarreal with Federico Valverde's attack on Álex Baena creates a situation of uncertainty as to whether or not it may have disciplinary consequences for the footballer from Real Madrid.

There are doubts about whether the Competition Committee can get involved, but it makes it clear that it can intervene if there is a complaint from the yellow club to this Committee. In that case, an extraordinary file would have to be opened, having to appoint an instructor who should collect the information and notify all parties.

As the hours go by, everything indicates that Villarreal has no intention of reporting to the Competition Committee Fede Valverde's alleged assault on Álex Baena. This denunciation should be accompanied by the pertinent evidence and for which it has a term to be able to exercise it.

As long as this scenario could be reached where there were also images to prove it, the Real Madrid player could be exposed to a very serious sanction. In the first case, according to article 66 regarding notorious and public acts that affect sporting dignity and decorum, it could lead to the deprivation of the player's license.

Villarreal's deadline to file the complaint

This is established in the RFEF Disciplinary Code in its article 26 regarding the Hearing Procedure: "Such right may be exercised within a period that shall expire at 2:00 p.m. on the second business day following the match in question, at which time The allegations or claims that are formulated must be submitted to the secretariat of the disciplinary body". The Submarine has time, in this case, until Tuesday, April 11 at 2:00 p.m.
