Edwin van der Sar is a football legend, yet he is now in the world's prayers for a brain hemorrhage. As reported by the Dutch journalist Mike Verweij, the former Manchester United goalkeeper was in Croatia on vacation when he was taken by helicopter to a hospital due to the brain hemorrhage.

These were the words of the official statement issued by Ajax: "On Friday, Edwin van der Sar has had a bleeding around his brain. He's currently in hospital in the intensive care unit and is in a stable condition. Once there is more concrete information , an update will follow. Everyone at Ajax wishes Edwin a speedy recovery. We're thinking of you"

Lionel Messi won the UEFA Champions League in 2009 against Edwin van der Sar's Manchester United, a squad that also included Cristiano Ronaldo. FC Barcelona beat Manchester United 2-0, with a spectacular (and unexpected) header from Lionel Messi.

The world of football hopes for the best:

Naturally, many soccer teams have spoken on social networks, wishing the best for the former goalkeeper. From El futbolero USA we wish a fast recovery to Edwin van der Sar, an absolute legend of soccer in the Netherlands and in England.
