When talking about the possibility of Inter Miami signing Lionel Messi, Nick Marsman, the club's former goalkeeper, made some controversial statements, assuring that the team was not prepared for the arrival of the Argentine.

“Personally I think that the club is not ready for the arrival of Lionel Messi. We have a temporary stadium, people can get on the field, we go to the stadium without security. The 32-year-old Dutchman initially joined Miami in July 2021 from top-tier Eredivisie side Feyenoord.
