It is one of the most surreal news of the summer, well, it is incredible to think that someone is not happy to play with Lionel Messi, but it happened. When talking about the possibility of Inter Miami signing Lionel Messi, Nick Marsman, the club's former goalkeeper, made some controversial statements, assuring that the team was not prepared for the arrival of the Argentine.

“Personally I think that the club is not ready for the arrival of Lionel Messi. We have a temporary stadium, people can get on the field, we go to the stadium without security. I hope he comes, but I don't think we're ready”, confessed the goalkeeper. His statements did not go unnoticed, as Inter Miami now took a drastic measure.

This was the official statement: “Inter Miami CF have exercised a contract buyout on goalkeeper Nick Marsman, the club announced Friday. The 32-year-old Dutchman initially joined Miami in July 2021 from top-tier Eredivisie side Feyenoord. He posted six clean sheets in 29 appearances, which all occurred across the 2021 and 2022 MLS regular seasons”.

What's next for Inter Miami?

After epically beating Dallas FC on penalties, now Inter Miami and Lionel Messi are preparing to face Charlotte FC, because yesterday they beat Houston Dynamo and qualified for the quarterfinals. The match will be played at the DRV PNK Stadium, home of Inter Miami.
