Paris Saint-Germain began its new assault on the Champions League with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Juventus, with the French side playing worse in the second half but failing to convert their numerous chances at the end and seeing their victory in jeopardy, thanks to an action where Mbappé failed to pass the ball to Neymar for the 3-0 win to seal the match.

In Paris Saint-Germain's first match in the Champions League, the Parisian team won at home with an unstoppable Mbappé. On the other hand, Lionel Messi could not show all his magic. The Argentine star had very few shots on goal and seemed lost in the match, but this was not his fault.

The tactical set-up of the PSG coach seemed to exclude Leo Messi. All the moves were set up on the other side of the pitch and Messi was unable to shine. The PSG coach again made the decision to replace Messi late in the game, just as he did against Monaco and Toulouse. The former Barcelona player was substituted 38 minutes into the second half.

Galtier gave priority to Mbappé over Messi

It seems that Mbappé’s influence is showing on the field for PSG. Galtier preferred to focus the team on Kylian Mbappé and although it gave him results in the first half, the Frenchman’s selfishness complicated the match for the Parisians.
