According to the Catalan newspaper Sport, the known interest of Chelsea, has been joined by Antonio Conte's Tottenham. With Frenchman Clément Lenglet already signed, the Italian coach wants Koundé as a partner of the former Barcelona player and already has the perfect plan to convince Sevilla to sell him.

According to the aforementioned source, the North London club is willing to pay a part of the 65 million euros that Sevilla is asking for the French defender and use Giovani Lo Celso and Sergio Reguilón as bargaining chips. Both players do not fit in Conte's plans for 2022-23 and are looking for a team.

As Sport points out, the proposal has aroused the interest of Sevilla, who, given Jules Koundé's insistence to leave in the current transfer market, would end up selling him to Tottenham and not to Barcelona, which would mean a hard blow for Xavi.

Barça's economic limitations pose a problem

The problem for Barcelona is money. Despite having started with the activation of the economic levers, the azulgranas are still far from reaching the 65 million euros that Sevilla is asking for the departure of the Frenchman.

The Andalusian team has the need to sell Koundé as it has understood that he will not renew the contract that binds him to the club until mid-2024. The Frenchman has already communicated that he wants a change of scenery and the club placed him on the transfer market for this summer.
