Manchester City will jump right into the third round of the EFL Cup (more known as Carabao Cup) against NewCastle at the Saint James Park Stadium, nevertheless, Erling Haaland won’t be first trier for today’s match, as Pep Guardiola has decided to kept him on the bench to avoid any more injuries.

Manchester City is filled up with injuries that already look like a hospital. Silva, Stone and De Bruyne are still on the injury reserve list and will probably be until november or even more time. Spanish midfielder, Rodrigo, is another absence for the Citizens due to his suspension against Nottingham Forest in the seventh week of the Premier League.

However, everybody thought Erling Haaland would stay as first trier for today’s match, but Pep Guardiola, Manchester City’s manager, has decided to put the Norwegian striker on the bench to avoid any more injuries on the squad, so he can play the remaining matches of the Premier League and UEFA Champions League, their two main objectives of the season.

On the other hand, NewCastle is going all for it at the third round of the EFL Cup, and has put all their firs trier players for today’s match against Manchester City in order to advance to the next round of the Carabao Cup

As we said before, the injury topic on Manchester City is awful and very concerning. Pep Guardiola can’t lose anymore players or he won’t have any to use in what remains of the year. that is why Pep has decided to sit down Erling Haaland for today’s match against NewCastle.
