It is still not entirely clear what will become of the future of Lionel Andrés Messi. After being eliminated from the Champions League in the round of 16 by Bayern Munich, the Argentinian's continuity in Paris seems to have stalled and rumors of a possible exit began to surface.

The truth is that the current world champion with Argentina has a contract with Paris Saint Germain until the end of the season and although, at first, everything seemed to be agreed for Leo to put his signature in Paris, at this point everything seems to indicate that his future will be totally different from what was scheduled.

After another sporting failure with PSG, Messi would be seriously considering going out in search of new challenges, although one of them would be to return to FC Barcelona, the team where he grew up in football. The '10' is interested in Xavi Hernández's project and returning to a city that he knows like the back of his hand would seduce both him and his family.

However, in the last hours it was learned that Messi would have asked Joan Laporta for a requirement for his return to take place. And it is that he wants Sergio Busquets to continue, at least, one more season in the Blaugrana team. We know that the Barça captain is still defining his future and this could be key to the return of the Argentine star.

What will become of the future of Busquets?

The truth is that Busquets is in a position similar to that of Messi, having a contract in Catalonia until the end of the season. Teams like Inter Miami and Toronto from the MLS, and Al-Nassr and Al-Shabab from Saudi Arabia offer millions for him to be present in his football, but Barça will also offer him a contract renewal. Everything will be in the hands of the captain.
