From figurehead to legend. A few hours before the ball rolls in the European Super Cup Final between Real Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt, the Merengue 'Killer', Karim Benzema, explained how his game evolved after Cristiano Ronaldo handed over the reins to him on his retirement from Real Madrid.
In an interview with the media, the Frenchman acknowledged that he modified his style on the field to become Los Blancos' number one attacking threat.

"After Cristiano's departure it is true that I scored many more goals, but with him I played a different type of game, as an assister. He helped me a lot on and off the field, I knew I could give more and, when he left, I had to change my game and ambition”.
"I'm not the one to say if I'm the best or not. Every year I give the maximum in what for me is the best club in the world. My level every year has to go up, although last year was a very good season," he explained.

Without thinking about his chances for the Ballon d'Or, Karim puts the interests of his team first: "I'm not the one to say if I'm the best or not. Every year I give my best for what for me is the best club in the world. My level has to go up every year, although last year was a very good season".
