La Liga is back for more action! The eight week of the Spaniard tournament begins with Real Madrid taking on Girona, two great contenders to conquer the 2023/2024 tournament, that will face today at the Montilivi Stadium. Real Madrid has retaken the victory path last time they faced UD Las Palmas.

Real Madrid is looking forward to retake the undefeated path they had at the beginning of the tournament, but was taken by Atletico Madrid on Sunday 24th in the Classic Metropolitan Derby, when they awfully fell in a 3-1 match. Nevertheless, Carlo Ancelotti’s team looks forward to prevail in the top three contenders of the standings, as they are just two points away from being at the top of the table and displace FC Barcelona who has 20 points.

On the other hand, Girona is at the second place of the standings, who was displaced from the top by FC Barcelona when they successfully outmatched Sergio Ramos’s Sevilla on Friday the 29th. Girona comes from a great 2-1 victory over Villareal last Wednesday and are one of the only two teams who currently remain undefeated.

Real Madrid’s official lineup has been revealed and it shows they are looking forward to put Girona’s first defeat on their record: Kepa, Carvajal, Bellingham, Nacho, Vinicius Jr, Kroos, Camavinga, Joselu, Valverde, Tchouaméni, Rüdiger.

What’s next for Real Madrid?

Real Madrid wants to forget their disastrous match against Atletico Madrid where they unfortunately lost their undefeated streak but retain their position in the third place of the standings. With another victory versus UD Las Palmas, Real Madrid recovered their trust in themselves, and even Vinicius Jr could make his return with the Merengues.

Real Madrid’s will have a not so difficult schedule ahead as they will face Calcio Napoli for their second UEFA Champions League appointment on Wednesday October the 4th (which will be their most challenging match); next up will face Osasuna for the ninth week of La Liga on Saturday the 7th.
