Before firing Xavi, Barcelona receives the worst news and Real Madrid laughs
Xavi Hernandez is having a hard time at Barca.
FC Barcelona is having a terrible season. In fact, now that 2023 is ending, it can be concluded that Barcelona failed to meet expectations and even, Xavi Hernandez is in trouble for 2024, since he does not have, at all, his spot as Barca manager, guaranteed.
On the other hand, Atlético Madrid beat Sevilla 1-0 and almost without breaking a sweat, after Marcos Llorente's goal in the 46th minute and which puts them third in LaLiga, above FC Barcelona. Atletico, having a greater goal difference than Barça, is ahead of them in third place
And ahead of these two are both Girona and Real Madrid with the same points. There are 45 points for each one and seven behind Barça and Atleti who will start from far behind in this new semester of 2024. There will be many points to overcome that complicate things but which is not at all impossible. In fact, with the start of the Champions League and with Girona facing the big teams again, Barça could cut corners if they do things well.
