Lionel Messi is in no hurry and has not yet decided his football future. PSG, despite pressure from the ultras, still wants the continuity of the top winner of the Ballon d'Or (7), while FC Barcelona dreams of his return. In this context, it comes to light that Kylian Mbappé would be to blame for Leo not renewing until 2024 with the current Ligue 1 champion.

L'Équipe revealed a few days ago that PSG wants to undo the trident made up of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and Neymar, since they reached an economic agreement with UEFA to comply with financial fair play. In this way and given the Brazilian's refusal to leave the Parisian team, the one chosen to say goodbye would be the captain of the Argentine team.

Now, the same sports newspaper indicated that Mbappé would be the real culprit for the possible farewell of the Rosario, since PSG must pay 60 million euros per season as a loyalty bonus. This is in addition to the 72 million that the French national team earns as a salary, who has a contract until 2024 with the team led by Christophe Galtier. Said amount prevents PSG from exceeding expenses and this would include offering a new contract to the 'Flea'.

Is the future of Lionel Messi in Spain?

While the continuity of Lionel Messi in France is complicated, from FC Barcelona they are excited about his return. According to the journalist Gerard Romero, the Catalan team is working on incorporating new sponsors, with the aim of reaching the numbers to present a formal offer to the entourage of the captain of the Argentine team.
