Lionel Messi is the best player in the world and for many he is the greatest of all time. Not for nothing is he the top winner of the Ballon d'Or (7) and is fighting to get the eighth. In fact, there are several pieces of information (two very precise) that would confirm that Leo would be the winner of the award given by France Football in its 2023 edition. Without a doubt something more than deserved for having been the figure of the Qatar 22022 World Cup but, of course, competes against Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé.

The Argentine star had a brilliant 2022-23 season with the Argentine National Team, while with Paris Saint Germain he stood out but could not win the UEFA Champions League (he was quickly eliminated). For his part, something similar happened to Mbappé with France and PSG, although he finished as runner-up in the world in the final against the Argentine National Team. Finally, Haaland didn't even play in the World Cup but had a brilliant performance with Manchester City.

That is why there are several points for which some could consider that Leo does not deserve the award, but the truth is that at 35 years old (now 36), he continues to show that he has the capacity to compete with new talents. And, as you already know, the World Cup is the most important tournament in football, so winning it and being a figure is too important to ignore and give the individual prize to someone else. Without a doubt Messi is among the football elite and he shows it.

The two facts for which Messi would win the Ballon d'Or

As reported in the last few hours by sources close to Leo Messi, the players of the Argentine National Team asked to play at the Mâs Monumental stadium against Uruguay because on that date the Argentine star would present his eighth Ballon d'Or with his people. Furthermore, according to European media, the family of the best player in the world has already booked tickets to Paris, where the France Football award ceremony will take place.
