Real Madrid is having an important start to the season despite not having the most exciting transfer market of all last summer. However, an issue that worries Carlo Ancelotti is the injuries and the way he has had to improvise with players out of position when needed. Now, a possible reinforcement for the team for 2024 is revealed, but it is also of interest to another important European club.
Jeremie Frimpong, Bayer Leverkusen's talented full-back, has become the object of desire of two European giants, Chelsea and Real Madrid. According to recent reports, Chelsea are willing to shell out a significant sum of €40 million to secure the services of the 23-year-old full-back, who has also caught the attention of the Merengue club.
Frimpong has proven to be a leading force in the Bundesliga since his arrival at Bayer Leverkusen in January 2021, excelling in an unconventional full-back position. Under the tutelage of Xabi Alonso, he has contributed impressively this season, being involved in 17 goals in 22 appearances, scoring seven times and providing ten assists.
According to Mail, despite interest from other Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United, Chelsea emerge as the main contender in the race for Frimpong. The €40 million release clause does not appear to be an obstacle for the Blues, who are looking to strengthen their right-back due to Reece James' physical concerns and Malo Gusto's difficulties establishing themselves.
