Erling Haaland has not managed to be part of the closing of 2023 with Manchester City after his injury in the last weeks of December. The Norwegian player did not participate in the Club World Cup and while many share that it was a precautionary measure so that he would recover as soon as possible, Pep Guardiola is already talking about the date on which the Norwegian would return.

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland will be out until January due to the bone stress injury he suffered in his foot several weeks ago. The Norwegian striker has missed City's last six games, including the Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia and Wednesday's game against Everton.

"He is not yet in the team. He feels better but he has not done any training with the team. Hopefully in January he can return to us," the Catalan coach commented to The Athletic. The City attacker did not even play in the club World Cup. "It has been very important since he arrived, but during an entire season these things are going to happen to you," Pep told the media before the World Cup.

When will De Bruyne return?

The other player who is about to return is Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian, who returned to training a few days ago but did not travel to Liverpool either, set off alarm bells. The good news is that he has not relapsed again and his return is very close: "Last week he trained with us, but today he had a little fatigue because he is training hard," Guardiola clarified.
