FC Barcelona is coming off a rather turbulent week, since last weekend they had to lose at the Camp Nou against Real Madrid 2-1, after having started by winning 'El Clásico' with a goal from Ilkay Gündogan. In this way, its eternal rival took first place in LaLiga and will now have to fight to reach it again. But this is not the only bad news that Xavi Hernández's team received.

FC Barcelona has been fined half a million euros for incorrectly declaring its profits from the disposal of intangible assets in the 2022 financial year. A ruling that has nothing to do with the Negreira case. The UEFA sanction says: The Appeals Chamber of the UEFA Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) has made a decision in the case of the appeal of Barcelona (ESP) against the decision issued by the First Chamber of the CFCB on July 13, 2023.

And continues: Before the First Chamber of the CFCB, Barcelona was fined 500,000 euros for wrongly declaring, in the 2022 financial year, profits from the disposal of intangible assets (other than player transfers) that do not constitute relevant income according to the regulations. In this way, the Blaugrana board will have to pay the 500.000 euros requested by UEFA, news that will not go down well inside the club at all.

Frenkie De Jong will not play against Real Sociedad

During practice this Friday, Frenkie De Jong did not manage to train alongside the group, so he will not be part of Xavi's squad to play the match against Real Sociedad, this coming Saturday, for matchday 12 of LaLiga. The player who could replace the Dutch player is none other than Pedri, who will be evaluated during these last hours to see if he will be able to return from his injury in good condition.
