Dallas FC's 3-2 win over Sporting Kansas City will be remembered for Peter Vermes' anger after the game. Is that the Dutch coach got upset with the rival players for wasting time when the game was ending. The referee of the match took out six yellow cards of which four were in the last 20 minutes. Vermes cataloged this action of the players as a "clowning".

Vermes also expressed that later no one should complain if people do not go to stadiums or no one watches them on television, since it is these antics that drive away MLS fans. The Dutchman said that he was involved in soccer his whole life and that he does not want to see this kind of thing anymore.

He also criticized the match referee as he considered that he did not do his homework well and that he should improve his homework next time. Vermes admitted that he left the game frustrated but that is no excuse for the goals they conceded in the 3-2 loss to Dallas FC.
