After Peter Vermes called FC Dallas a disrespectful and clownish team, Dallas FC coach Luchi Gonzalez came out to defend his team. González defended the integrity of his players when asked about Vermes' pointed comments after the game that led him to label the behavior of the Dallas players as "disrespectful."

González stated that he knows his team very well and that they play with great integrity. He also provided the data that they are the team with the fewest yellow cards in MLS 2020 and that they always respect opposing players and coaches. He also admitted that this type of game generates consequences in the game that were respected by the referee of the match between Dallas FC and Sporting Kansas City.

The Dallas FC coach expressed that the eight minutes added by his players' scorecards was correct and that he refereed the match well. González said that he will defend his players and that he wants them to continue competing and fighting for the jersey, for themselves and to show personality to play.
