Inter Miami face destruction. The team owned by David Beckham needs to win and a combination of other results to qualify to the MLS' playoffs. Although is common that expansion teams fail to achieve their post season ticket on their first season, it's real that Inter Miami ha invested much more than usual expansion franchises.

In this sense, Gonzalo Higuaín has clearly been the most outstanding addition of the team. The Argentinian forward has signed a contract that pays him 7,5 million dollars per year until December 2022. He is the player best paid in the whole team.

To have an idea, Higuaín is earning at Inter Miami more than what Lautaro Martínez earns at Inter Milan. Moreover, Lautaro Martínez is demanding a salary rise that would pair his salary with Higuaín's, and even Inter Milan has doubts about that paycheck. Clearly, Gonzalo Higuaín's salary is very high.

But, what happens if he fails -like he is doing so-? 7,5 million is quite a number and it's even possible that David Beckham decides to spend that amount elsewhere. In that case, what could happen with the Pipita? Back in June, on an interview with Argentinian TV Higuaín said that when he sees his former club, River Plate, he likes what he sees and even imagine himself there.

The coach of River, Marcelo Gallardo, knows Higuaín since they where partners in River. If Inter Miami wants to get rid of Higuaín's contract, would he go to River? It's a very possible destination for the former Argentinian national team striker.
