MLS is still looking to bring in world-class stars, yet it finds itself competing with a monster in soccer, Europe's soccer.

This is the case of a forward who is further away from MLS, short of announcing his signing in Portugal. Despite this, MLS remains in the player's plans. It is about Edison Cavani, who is without a team because his contract with Paris Saint Germain came to an end. Despite having offers from MLS, the player, according to reports, is nowhere near announcing his signing for a Portuguese great, Sport Lisboa e Benfica.

The contract will last for three years. And many will wonder, how can MLS enter Edison Cavani's plans if he will sign with Sport Lisboa e Benfica for three years? This has a concrete and straightforward answer.

The MLS offers have tempted Edison Cavani; it is for this reason that he contemplates coming to MLS in his last years of activity and thus have a quiet retirement. For the moment, the MLS teams will have to wait; however, they should not neglect the hiring of the Uruguayan goalscorer.
