Raúl Jiménez appears in seventh place in the top 10 most devalued players in the Premier League at the end of 2021.

In August 2021, Raúl Jiménez returned to the pitch after a serious injury that left him out of competition for more than half a year. The Mexican striker found his shape after gaining minutes in the current Premier League fixtures. Wolverhampton now enjoys the healthy of the forward even though, according to the portal specialized in the value of players, Transfermarkt, the Mexican Lobo lost value and is no longer valued at EUR 28 million.

At the peak of his career in 2019, Jiménez was considered one of the best strikers in the Premier League. He managed to score 27 goals in that season and also scored against teams like Tottenham, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester City. At that time, the Mexican striker was valued at EUR 30 million for any team that wanted his services.

However, during the 2020 season, the former América player suffered a skull fracture, as a result of a collision with David Luiz in a dispute for the ball. Due to the seriousness of the injury, the player was sidelined for more than six months, and there was even speculation that he would retire, but he managed to return to the pitch in 2021. The recovery process has been tough, so the player's market value dropped, closing the year at EUR 22 million.

Raúl Jiménez career at Wolves

Since his arrival in 2018, the Mexican earned the starting striker spot for Wolverhampton. With his hard work, he became the all-time top scorer in the Premier League for the Wolves. In addition, the striker has amassed 127 games played in all competitions for 51 goals and 20 assists. This means that he participates in a direct goal every two matches.

The Wolverhampton fans have recognized him and even composed a chant to encourage the Mexican striker at every home game. "Yes sir, yes sir, we have the best striker in the world and he is from Mexico. Yes sir, yes sir, it's Raúl Jiménez. Give him the ball and he will always score," can be heard in the stands of the stadium, often accompanied by banners with the name and surname of the former America striker.

Nevertheless, since his return to the pitch, he has not been able to regain the level to which the team was used to. Although he has not been the same as before, Wolves' support for the Mexican striker has been very strong, so much so that they produced a documentary called Code Red, in which they tell everything about the striker's injury.

Current year at Wolves

From August until now, Jiménez has scored 3 goals in the Premier League. In fact, his goals have been of great significance for the team, as they have meant three points for his team to be able to continue fighting for the top spots in the league. In fact, the Mexican was named as the best player of November for the Wolverhampton squad.

He also managed to return to the Mexican national team. Prior to his injury, he was one of Gerardo Tata Martino's first-choice players. Now he is once again the main striker of the Tricolor ahead of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

All these events have punished the striker and caused the market to be critical towards Raúl Jiménez and ruled that, at 30 years old, the striker is worth EUR 22 million. Time will tell whether this number can rise again or will continue to drop.
