Liga MX 2022 Rumors: Club America goes for Julio Furch, but he already said where he would like to play

The Mexican soccer transfer window now open, rumors have been swirling that Club America wants Julio Furch as a reinforcement, but the lethal Atlas striker has even sent a message to the club he wants to play for.

Although so far neither the player nor America has made any statements on the matter, it is known that the Coapa club has been very interested in the player due to his performance in Mexico. 

And this version gained more strength since a few days ago, echoed in the Mexican media that journalist Elías Quijada, from La Octava Sports, has information that gives strength to this news. 

In his Twitter account, the journalist said that the club America is looking for Furch and that to get him they would be willing to exchange Federico Viñas.

However, in recent days the president of the Zorros has already clarified this rumor. 

Is Julio Furch already on his way to becoming part of Club America?

The response from José Riestra, the president of Atlas was forceful in denying this rumor and affirming that so far, there is no offer from the Aguilas for the player. 

In an interview for Marca Claro, the president of Cub stated that there is no approach from America with Furch and that so far, the only transfer that could happen is that of Jesús Angulo to Tigres. 

The club's president said, "The idea is to keep the team, there have been approaches for Angulo by people from Tigres, he is today the only casualty that the team will have and we want to reinforce ourselves for the next tournament. 

"It is a very advanced operation and I can also tell you that the departure of Julio César Furch to América is a pure rumor," assured Riestra for Marca Claro.

A few days ago, the 32-year-old player, born in Winifred, La Pampa, Argentina, sent a greeting to the team he wants to play for: Boca Juniors.

Furch took advantage of an interview with TNT Sports and expressed his affection for the team he loves. 

The player said: 

"As a kid I am Boca, so I would love to play there. It is the biggest club in Argentina and I have friends like Cali (Carlos) Izquierdoz who have spoken very well of me. I watch the games and there is always the desire to play for the club you love". 

So, even though the fans have asked for Furch to join their team as a reinforcement, this will not be possible at least in the Clausura 2022 Tournament, which is about to begin.

The lethal Atlas striker has more than proved that the opportunities he has been offered in Mexican soccer have been very well taken advantage of. 

In the last tournament with Atlas, the player played 23 games and scored nine goals, in addition to providing three assists.

As if that were not enough, the player was indispensable for the Zorros, giving them depth in attack and being a challenge for the rival defenses. 

He also scored the penalty kick with which Atlas broke its curse of not having won a league title in more than 70 years. 

So it is normal that rumors are generated about this player since he is an element that any Liga MX team would like to have in their lineup.
