Liga MX 2022: Leon announces Federico Martinez as new reinforcement

The announcements of the players that will reinforce the teams of the Liga MX 2022 continue and Leon announced Federico Martinez as a new reinforcement for the team for the next tournament.

Martinez arrives at the current runner-up of Mexican soccer from Liverpool of Uruguay and has experience with Rosario Central and Independiente, both top-level teams in Argentina.

The player will arrive at the club to occupy the right-winger position, which indicates that the squad will have an even more attacking style of soccer in the upcoming tournament. 

This decision is not surprising for Ariel Holan, the team's coach, after having finished as runner-up in the tournament against Atlas in a penalty shootout. 

How much did the arrival of Federico Martinez cost Leon?

Although the amount has not been disclosed, unofficially it was learned that the Esmeraldas paid more than 2.5 million dollars for 80 percent of the Uruguayan player's charter. 

The other important reason for the player's arrival at the club is to try to fill the void left by the departure of Emmanuel Gigliotti.

La Fiera team was looking for an element that could play around the striker, with a goal-scoring and finishing ability to give power to their attack; they have found it in the Uruguayan striker Federico Martínez.

The arrival of Martinez to Los Panzas Verdes is a great success on the part of the club's management, as the player is a real machine in terms of his numbers. 

Fede Martinez is just 25 years old and arrives from Liverpool Montevideo, where he scored 9 goals in 14 games last season. 

The player leaves Liverpool with 165 games played and 40 goals scored. 

The player also has experience in his national team, one of the most fearsome in the entire American continent, which is coached by Oscar Washington Tavares. 

And this tactician has redefined the Charrúa national team and taken it to new heights. 

Martinez received his first call-up to the Uruguayan national team for the triple date of the Conmebol qualifiers in September for the games against Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador. His debut came in a 1-0 win over Ecuador.

How could the Uruguayan play in La Fiera?
