Rumors suggest that “El Vasco” presented his resignation letter after their participation in Abu Dhabi ended, as he hasn’t achieved any of the goals that were expected from him, except from winning CONCACAF Champions League, given the great resumé he has.

It’s said that he spoke with the roster to know if they were willing to back his project up, but after some players refused to do it, Aguirre is considering stepping down and it’s just waiting for the answer of the ownership to part ways with Rayados.

Who will be his replacement?

Reports indicate that Monterrey are expecting José Manuel Vucetich to return to Rayados for a second stint, as he knows how the club works and has won both Liga MX and CONCACAF Champions League with them. They were just waiting for the right moment to terminate Aguirres contract.
