Almost one red card per matchcday, that is the reality for Tigres in the Apertura 2022. It happened against Mazatlán, Juárez, Gallos and now against Pachuca. Miguel Herrera's plan was thwarted in a matter of minutes, as the ‘Felino’ went down a man very early in the match against Pachuca.

In a match that looked evenly matched, especially due to the start made by both Pachuca and Tigres, the team coached by Guillermo Almada took advantage of the Monterrey team's mistakes and negligence.

Just 11 minutes into the first half, Jesús Angulo was shown the red card after stepping on Avilés Hurtado from behind on the edge of the Tigres' box; after a thorough VAR review, the referee decided to send the Tigres defender for an early shower.

Miguel Herrera will have to find a way to avoid one red card after another. Tigres has collected five in just seven games and the Clasico Regio against Monterrey is coming up, arguably the most important of the regular season.

Double whammy against Tigres

As if being down a man for the third consecutive match wasn't enough, that free kick led to the home team's first goal. After Luis Chávez shot, Nahuel Guzmán was unable to hold onto the ball and Nicolás Ibáñez took advantage of the rebound to score the opening goal.
