Now that Clausura 2022 is over for Cruz Azul, as they couldn’t beat Tigres in the quarterfinals, La Máquina has started to plan their movements for next season, starting with the departure of Juan Reynoso after the irregular performances this season.
Diego Aguirre will arrive at Cruz Azul and already has his first signing
According to reports from Jorge Ramos from ESPN, Jaime Ordiales already negotiated the arrival of Diego Aguirre to La Máquina’s dugout to replace the Peruvian coach, and it’s just a matter of time until they present him as Cruz Azul’s new coach.
Aguirre knows that one of the things that needs to change upon his arrival is the relationship that the team has with La Máquina followers, which is why one of his first decisions will be to part ways with Rafael Baca, who has won the enmity of the stands.
With only one year left on his contract, Tigres’s defender Rafael Carioca seems like the perfect successor for Baca in La Máquina’s defense, especially as Aguirre knows him from Atlético Mineiro, where he coached him in 2016.
According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is set at $3.2 million, a sum that Los Cementeros will have to pay if they want to acquire Carioca, although with the departure of Baca they could recover part of the investment, as his market value currently is set at $1.6 million.
Juan Reynoso leaves Cruz Azul through the back door but already has a team in Liga MX
