In an interview with TUDN, Guillermo Ochoa decided to break his silence about what really happened with Club America and why he decided not to stay with the Azulcrema despite the fact that his idea was to stay in Liga MX in view of the new coach of the Mexican national team.

The sporting president of Club America, Santiago Baños, assured that he was surprised that Guillermo Ochoa made the decision to leave for Italy despite the fact that he was in negotiations with the club. The Mexican goalkeeper confessed that it was actually América's board of directors that gave him a long time to renew and that is why he decided to leave for Italy.

"Time began to pass and no agreement was reached with America. They let a lot of time pass to be able to agree on something, so that's when we started to talk to my people and I said, you know that here the situation is not very clear, we are going to start exploring other issues," Guillermo Ochoa commented for TUDN.

Ochoa will not return to Club America?

Guillermo Ochoa maintains that the project with Salernitana is long term and that he would like to stay in Europe until he can play in the 2026 World Cup, hence it seems complicated that he could return to America, especially due to the differences that existed in his renewal.
