Finally, the highest European football body, UEFA, announced the end of the double value of away goals in its competitions, both Champions League and Europa League, in a historic decision that had generated many debates in recent months in the world football. The regulations will come into effect from next season.

“Following the recommendation of the UEFA Club Competitions Committee and the UEFA Women's Football Committee, the UEFA Executive Committee today approved a proposal to remove the so-called away-court-goal rule from all football competitions. UEFA clubs (men, women and youth) from the qualifying stages of the 2021/22 competitions ”, reads the organism's statement.
