USMNT had drawn 0 goals against Wales in their last friendly but against Panama they showed a great offensive power and won 6-2. One of the stars of this match was the young player from Borussia Dortmund, Giovanni Reyna.  Berhalter made a change in the tactical system that favored Reyna and thus was able to demonstrate the quality of player that he is.

The match against Wales was very special for Reyna as it was her debut with the USMNT first team. The pressure to put on that shirt for the first time might have intimidated him but it wasn't his fault that he didn't have a great game. Against Panama you could see a Gio Reyna more similar to Borussia Dortmund.

The reality is that against Wales, Berhalter decided to play with a false 9 and Lletget was the one who occupied that position. Going down to look for the ball, he took up space for Gio Reyna's creation, so Reyna couldn't find where to move. By changing for the Panama game and playing with a traditional 9, Reyna was able to take more charge of the ball and showed her great level.

What Reyna was seen today is more similar to what he does in Borussia Dortumnd with Haaland since the Norwegian player is a classic 9 from the area. Besides showing his great level with the ball, Giovanni Reyna was able to score his first goal with the USMNT jersey. No doubt Reyna will never forget this week.
