After Barcelona's draw against PSG and its consequent elimination from the UEFA Champions League, the Catalan team missed not only the chance to compete for lifting the trophy but also to earn almost $12 million. That's the amount UEFA pays to each club reaching the quarter-finals.

However, even reaching that stage this sum would have been way behing the astronomic number that 'Canelo' Álvarez earned after his combat against Turkish Avni Yildirim. In terms of profit, the Mexican boxer's earnings is almost three times bigger than what Barcelona could have earned in case of defeating PSG.

According to the reports of AS, Alvarez’s earnings could have possibly touched up to $30 million on his last combat against Turkish Avni Yildirim. It is still not confirmed, but considering his win, contractual bid, and endorsements, he seems to have bagged a massive amount.

It is also claimed that Avni Yildirim received $2.5 million from the fight. Although there is a vast difference in his earrings as compared to Alvarez’s, the Turkish pugilist has still bagged a massive amount. Unfortunately, he couldn’t perform well tonight and got outclassed in three rounds. So, the amount looks more than sufficient for such an underwhelming and short-lived contest.
