It's time for Floyd Mayweather Jr. to start trembling. But not because Javier 'Chicharito' Hernández will earn more than him or because Carlos Vela is about to sign a multi-millionaire contract.  Gilberto Ramírez, undefeated in 41 fights as a professional boxer warned that he is going for the record of Floyd Mayweather and the head of Canelo Álvarez.

Gilberto Ramírez is the first Mexican to be crowned world champion in the super middleweight division and is working to soon have the opportunity to regain that status, while warning that he wants to break Floyd Mayweather's undefeated and victories record, as well as stop the clean of Saúl 'Canelo' Álvarez.

In his last two fights, El Zurdo decided to enter the light heavyweight division, with victories against Tommy Karpency and Alfonso Lopez, the latter in December of last year, which allowed him to stretch his mark as a professional to 41 victories, without draws or losses, which left him just 9 more fights from Money's record mark.

"I want to be a world champion again, have all the titles, unify myself, and in the long term I want to be a legend. Surpassing the Mayweather mark is the first record I want to have," he expressed in dialogue with Jocelin Flores. But the Mexican has not ruled out returning to the super middleweight division, with the aim of measuring his strength against his compatriot Saúl Canelo Álvarez, who is also considered the best pound-for-pound fighter today.

"I believe that this opportunity is going to be given, because the public is asking for that fight. We are two Mexicans, we are the ones who are right now in our best moments. I think that in 2022 it can happen. I have more skills than him, I am intelligent in the ring and I'm bigger than him", Ramírez remarked.
