There's less and less time for the Concacaf Gold Cup to begin to be played, in an edition that is special and with various protocols to comply with due to the coronavirus pandemic. In that sense, the coach of the United States has a preliminary list to play the tournament and try to win the competition that has him as one of the great candidates, along with Mexico.

Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie are among the big names topping America's provisional roster for the Concacaf Gold Cup 2021. Another player included in the US preliminary squad and who has flourished in Europe this season is Barcelona defender Sergiño Dest. The 20-year-old left-back became the first US footballer to play for the legendary Spanish club.

The United States squad begins to take shape with the preselection recently revealed by Concacaf, but which must be definitively chosen by the coaching staff a week before kick-off against one of the countries that are not yet classified to the competition, although from now reveals more than interesting names to fight for the title.

Goalkeepers: Ethan Hovart, Sean Johnson, David Ochoa, Matt Turner and Zack Steffen.

Defenders: John Brooks, Reggie Cannon, Sergiño Dest, Aaron Long, Mark Mckenzie, Matt Miazga, Tim Ream, Bryan Reynolds Jr., Chris Richards, Antonee Robinson, Miles Robinson, Walker Zimmerman and Sam Vines.

Midfielders: Brenden Aaronson, Tyler Adams, Luca de la Torre, Sebastian Lletget, Weston McKennie, Yunus Musah, Owen Otasowie, Kellyn Acosta, Cristian Roldán and Jackson Yueill.

Forwards: Paul Arriola, Tyler Boyd, Konrad de la Fuente, Daryl Dike, Nicholas Gioacchini, Christian Pulisic, Josh Sargent, Jordan Siebatcheu, Tim Weah and Gyasi Zardes.
