France, the current world champion team, leads group D in the European Qualifiers for Qatar 2022, whose dispute began in the last days of March. He achieved two wins (2-0 against Kazakhstan and 1-0 with Bosnia) and a draw (1-1 against Ukraine), but more was expected from his game considering the quality of his players, especially from midfield forward, where Three champions in Russia 2018 remain their banners: Antoine Griezmann, Olivier Giroud and Kylian Mbappé, who in the last hours was criticized by a former PSG player, Jean-Michel Larqué.

n the first three games Mbappé could not score a goal and even missed a penalty against Kazakhstan, on paper the weakest opponent in his area. After those encounters, the 22-year-old attacker and figure of the national team that in Russia won the second ecumenical major title for Les Bleus, showed his annoyance at the criticism he received.

Larqué, who today works as a commentator at RMC Sport, questioned Mbappé's statements: “I don't care about Mbappé's mood at the end of the game, what interests me is the game itself. I don't care if he resents being criticized. He doesn't mind when he is regularly called "The Freak." How is it that a player who plays abroad is less criticized than one who plays for a French club?”, added the former French footballer.

And he declared that “the criticism comes after two very mediocre games and I don't take into account the game against Kazakhstan, where a penalty was missed. And can't journalists say that Mbappé is not doing well at the moment in the French team? That's the truth. Let him do what he wants, but if Mr. Mbappé isn't happy when we say that he doesn't do well for two games, then he can change jobs”.
