Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who will turn 40 next October, renewed his contract with AC Milan for one year, with whom he will play "also next season", the rossonero club announced on Thursday. Ibra returned to Milan in January 2020, to a team in which he had already played between 2010 and 2012, and his role was fundamental in the improvement of the historic Lombard club, currently second classified in Serie A.
"The Swedish champion will also wear the Rossonera shirt next season", the statement read. Ibrahimovic is AC Milan's top scorer this season. His best form at Milan, after a few more discreet seasons since his departure from PSG in 2016, also allowed Ibra to return with the Swedish national team, in March, about five years after his goodbye and twenty after your first call.
