How much could cost a star who scores over 60 goals among Premier League and La Liga, plus also 60 goals in Ligue 1, and 40 more (in just 50 games) in Portugal? Well, for sure, it would not be a cheap transfer. But now, Portland Timbers could be on the verge of signing an experienced striker with excellent records for over a decade in Europe.

The dark side in his career is related to an injury that left him out of his country’s comeback in a World Cup. They had last played in 1998 and were back with lots of illusions for 2014 in Brazil. However an anterior cruciate ligament injury forced him to pull out, his recovery was solid, but not quick enough.

After scoring no less than 28 goals in 34 games for Atlético de Madrid in 2012-13 season, Colombia’s Radamel Falcao made a surprising decision: when he was pretender by city rivals Real Madrid and English giants Chelsea, instead he chose to move to AS Monaco, and suffered his injury six months before the World Cup in Brazil.

He stayed in Ligue 1 until he was loaned to Manchester City, later Chelsea, and moved in 2019 to Turkish giants Galatasaray. Now, he discarded offers from several clubs, including Argentinian giants River Plate who raised him in their academy. Portland Timbers have approached to him, and they could make him join his seventh league after Argentina, Portugal, Spain, France, England and Turkey.
