Mauricio Pochettino has landed in Paris Saint-Germain as the best paid head coach in the history of the French side with the clear mission to gain the first Champions League title ever. The Argentinian head coach will try to help Neymar, Kylian Mbappé and company to obtain the international competition.

The great opponent in their first stage will be FC Barcelona, the team that PSG will face on the Round of 16. But before that match, Pochettino is already working in the conformation of the squad for the next season and there is a player that could not continue, the first one axed in his era.

He is Idrissa Gueye, the Senegalese midfielder who arrived to the Parisian club on July 2019 for $30 million. After just 55 matches played, in which he scored three goals and gave the same number of assists, Pochettino thinks that he is needed at the team and thinks on asking president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and sport adviser Leonardo to kick him.

Gueye has a contract signed until June 2023, the main reason why his only option to leave would be a sell or a loan. He was formed in Diambars, then played for LOSC Lille and finally arrived to the Premier League, a league in which he played for Aston Villa and Everton. There are now concrete chances of him returning to the British competition, as Newcastle United could re-catch him.
