Diego Armando Maradona died on November 25 for causes that are still being investigated. And this Friday, four months and a day after that event, the Argentine National Team played for the first time since his death. For this reason, in the friendlies that the Sub 23 played against Japan, the players and coaching staff of Argentina paid a very heartfelt tribute to Pelusa, Alejandro Sabella (former World runner-up coach in Brazil 2014) and Leopoldo Jacinto Luque (champion of the world in Argentina 1978).

Fernando Batista's team, which will play two preparatory matches against the Asian team, had all its players with the number 10 in honor of Diego Armando Maradona. On the back was read the legend "Eternally Thanks Diego".

During the anthem, it could also be seen that the coaching staff wore a jacket that said "DT" that was addressed to Alejandro Sabella, who died on December 8. While the substitutes wore the number 14 in memory of Leopoldo Jacinto Luque, who died on February 15 last.

However, the most shocking moment took place during the minute of silence prior to the start of the duel. There was absolute silence throughout the stadium - which had a small audience respecting a protocol - to remember the world champion footballer in 1986 and the finalist coach in the 2014 World Cup.
