Defender Alan Franco said goodbye to Independiente to continue his career in Atlanta United, of the MLS of the United States, and when choosing a memory he was left with the title of the Copa Sudamericana 2017 obtained at the Maracaná stadium in Rio de Janeiro. Before embarking on the trip to the United States to close his transfer to the team led by Gabriel Heinze, Franco expressed his joy at "the step" that he will take in his career.

"I'm happy with the step I'm going to take. I expected it for a long time. I had beautiful and unforgettable moments here and I'm happy with what I experienced in Independiente", said the 24-year-old defender in statements to TyC Sports. When choosing a memory with Rojo, the defender won the 2017 Copa Sudamericana title against Flamengo at the Maracanã stadium under the leadership of Ariel Holan.

"I'll stay with the Maracana, it will be something for life. The stadium was collapsing but we were able to achieve what we wanted", recalled Franco, who along with Fabricio Bustos were the only player of that title who remained at the club. "Im grateful for the affection of the people. Independiente is a very big club and it deserves everything. I hope it continues to win titles because it is a wonderful club. I will miss it very much", he admitted.

Alan Franco arrives in the United States and will be subjected to studies

Franco will undergo medical studies and if everything is in good condition (Lautaro Gianetti's pass from Vélez to Atlanta fell due to not passing the review) he will be a new player in Heinze's team and will once again be Ezequiel Barco's teammates.

Independiente will receive about three million dollars for half of the pass and from that amount the percentage that corresponds to San Telmo must be deducted.
