Edinson Cavani's one of the many world stars whose contract with his club expires in June and hasn't yet been renewed. Far from the best version of him at Manchester United, the Uruguayan striker would not frown upon leaving European football to return to play in America. In that sense, various MLS franchises will try to hire him, as well as Boca Juniors, a team from Argentina that seems to have a small advantage to acquire the attacking midfielder.

Cavani came to the Red Devils as a reinforcement of the hierarchy, but he still could not show all his talent since due to injuries or suspensions, it was more the time he was off the court than he participated. For example, in the current season he counted all the competitions (Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League) he only played 25 games, in which he scored seven goals and gave two assists. They're clearly very low numbers for all of his potential.

At 34 years old and retiring closer and closer, Cavani analyzes the possibility of playing again on the continent and there appear two seductive proposals: one economic, the other competitive and close to Salto, his birthplace. The first point's in favor of the MSL, since Inter Miami, Los Angeles Galaxy and another franchise whose name didn't come to light were interested in hiring him from June, when his contract with United ends. They would seduce him with an important contract for two seasons.

The second proposal would seem to be more in line with the forward's intentions. It's that Boca Juniors, through its vice president Juan Román Riquelme, contacted before he signed for Manchester United and let him know his desire to wear the Azul y Oro to play the Argentine tournament and also the Copa Libertadores. At that time the offer was rejected as he felt ready to continue in Europe.

But now, the landscape has changed considerably. It's that he misses the peace of Salto a lot. And being in Buenos Aires means that he can travel often to his field, since only 5 hours separate him. The contract could be the problem. It is that although he would considerably lower what he charges with respect to Manchester United, the player would ask the Xeneize leadership for a contract for three seasons and a salary that would be around 5 and 6 million dollars. A very important sum for Argentine soccer but it's even below what Carlos Tevez charged when he signed a contract in 2015.

Definitive days are coming in Cavani's life. To be attentive to see where he will play...
