Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were once the clear top strikers of La Liga. When the Argentinian was in a tremendous moment at FC Barcelona and the Portuguese played for Real Madrid, they both dominated every single attacking stat.
But after Barcelona lowered their performances and Cristiano left to Juventus, things have changed in Spanish soccer. Luis Suárez is now the attacker leading the top-scorer table, with 16 goals scored, three more than his friend Messi. Surprisingly, the Catalan side decided to axe him out in the start of this campaign, in a very polemic decision.
